Loopon is collecting online reputation from a vast number of online sources. These sources vary over time based on what sources are currently available and in use by guests.
Reputation sources
These sources include, but are not limited to:
- TripAdvisor
- Google Reviews
- Expedia
- Booking.com
- Hotels.com and multiple other Expedia sources.
- Yelp
- OpenTable
- Agoda
- ... The full list is presented at: Integrations on the Loopon Website
Best practice for Reputation sources
Loopon recommends hotels to collect reviews from Booking.com, Expedia, Tripadvisor and Google Reviews.
- Connect your Booking.com account to be able to fetch and respond to reviews.
- Connect your Google Reviews account to be able to fetch and respond to reviews.
- Expedia lists the same reviews and responses on all their websites including: Hotels.com, Wotif, Orbitz, Travelocity, Trivago, eBookers. Because of this it is enough to enter only the Expedia.com link for all these sources.
- Connect your Tripadvisor link to connect reviews directly from Tripadvisor.
- If you use Facebook, connect it to Loopon through your Facebook account.
Frequency of review collection
Loopon aims to provide online reviews as fast as possible for all clients.
Collecting reviews from unlinked sites is unsupported by review platforms. This creates a constant challenge, as websites attempt to block collection and Loopon works to overcome these restrictions.
There might be occasional interruptions for specific sites while we work to bypass newly implemented blocks.
To avoid being blocked by the review sites, Loopon is fetching reviews at a varied pace where hotels and websites that are commonly updated with new reviews are visited more often and hotels or sites that have no reviews yet or seldom gets updates will be fetched more seldom. Some websites are considered more important than others and are check more frequently.
Within the Expedia group all the OTAs share reviews and we will check Expedia.com more frequently than the sister sites, hence it is better to add a Expedia.com link to Loopon than a Hotels.com link.
Websites with higher traffic and greater interest in your hotel will be updated frequently. Sites where your hotel is less active or a site less relevant will only be checked occasionally.
If your hotel has a particular website that is collected seldom or not at all. Loopon support can help you out to tweak the frequency.
Linking your business accounts
While fetching reviews as a website visitor is sometimes blocked, a few websites (Booking.com, Google Reviews and Facebook) allow businesses to fetch and respond to reviews by connecting your business account at these sites through Loopon. This will increase the frequency of review collection. Linking your account can be done from Loopon and the process differs between the websites.
